    Hi again!

Yesterday I noticed (duh!) that the muffler of my XJ750 says "SuperTrapp".
My question: Is this an aftermaket addition by the PO, or is this the stock muffler for this '81 Yamaha?

Anyway, it does sound great, a low, throatty (spelling?) sound.
    Thank you for your help.

Thank you! I'll try to find more about it, but if anybody knows something about this, please post it here.
The 4 exhausts of the XJ750 Seca go to this, just one, muffler. Most photos I've seen show one muffler (Is this the right term?) at each side of the motorcycle.

On a Supertrapp muffler, if you remove some end discs you make it quieter- - add discs makes it louder.

See if a magnet sticks to the muffler can, that looks like stainless.
That's a quality, tune-able muffler ya got there.

I agree. That's a good muffler. 4-2 was the stock exhaust set up on these bikes and 4-1 like you have was done for performance and to cut the total bike weight a bit.

    Thank you for your posts.
I tried the magnet bit, and it sticks in the end of the muffler, from about 1 or 2 inches of the end, but NOT in the body itself. NOT where it says Supertrupp.
As I wrote before, the motorcycle has a nice deep, rumbling sound.
