Most likely it's the valve cover gasket AND the mounting bolt "donuts" that provide the clamping force.

Oil runs forward due to the slope of the fins, and backward, due to air pressure, so oil moves around some.

ok the cams are higher under the covers with the shiny fins pointing up. The fins above that plug are they wet if you can't tell clean it off with brake clean and watch it closely see where it is coming out probably the gasket i tried to blow up the pic but could not tel. Also it can be coming from 3 fins under which could be a head gasket but i do not believe that is where its coming from. Like i said clean it off really good take it for a short ride and check it that will tell you for sure

that's not where the cam is in the picture. I'll agree with the post above....probably from the valve cover gasket. It's pushing out, and running down.....then blowing around.

If it were from the head gasket, it would be lower.

I'd also suggest that you look around the exhaust collars, and see if you're getting any oily blow-by. that can also travel around like that. Still, I'd go with the valve cover gasket first. When you pull the valve cover off, you'll find the cams right underneath the cover. If you look on the opposite side of the engine, you'll see two 'halfmoon' rubber extensions that are just under the end of the valve cover.....THOSE are right in line with the cams. Now you know where they are.
