OK, i figure this is bad, but will it affect the performance of the bike, until i can afford to replace the muffler
Oh by the way this is the bottom of my muffler... on the right side

Not bad but not good either. Time to look into a new exhaust system. Start saving your pennies. You can wrap a piece of aluminum stock around the muffler and clamp it with band clamps for a temporary patch but it will only quiet things down for a little while.

    Hey, Bow-sinn-mate:

I'll betcha if you take that off the bike ... and show it to a Machinist Mate, Ship-Fitter, Damage Controlman or Engineman worth his Salt ... they can Jury-Rig an Admirals Patch on there and have you ready to "Answer All Bells" with a seaworthy fix that won't look Disneyland and will remain sound and secure at Flank Speed!

(How'd ya like that one, huh???)

Pack it with Quicksteel - it's on the bottom so it won't be seen. That should buy you some time before having to buy new exhaust!

I bought my Quicksteel at Wal Mart.

Rick, that put an instant grin to my face.. thanks.. thats hard to do this early in the morning for me..

I'll look in to getting that quicksteel stick.. and do a patch that way until i can afford to get new exgust system i guess, since i'm going to replace that part might as well replace the whole thing and not deal with the rust everywhere else too!!

Anyone got suggestions on what i should look in to, and what websites seem to have the best deals on these parts??

My exhaust looks like that! Luckily I bought an OEM exhaust on Ebay that is in better shape.
