I pulled the starter to begin diagnosing a possible starter clutch or just synthetic oil issue, I noticed this hole when I pulled it out. I’d like to know if this is supposed to be there before I start putting too much money into the bike. When I did get it to start there was no unusual noises and I didn’t find any metal chunks in the oil when I drained it after getting this bike a few months ago.

Awesome, thank you. When I see a big hole in the side of an engine I get worried lol.

Understood. You’re not the first to be concerned about it!
