    Yes, it's a very big thing in the import tuning community. They got way better tech over there that didn't often cross the ocean. When you see a right hand drive "240sx" with Silvia badges, JDM.

    In Japan, cars older than 10 years are hit with an extremely high tax just to keep them on the road. It's done to stimulate the economy, keeping people in new cars. It becomes cheaper to load them on a boat and ship them to a hungry American market.
    300+hp can be purchased for less than a used minivan.
