Do you have an aftermarket exhaust? Most likely you will have to rejet your carbs. I beleive that in the kit that K&N sell they will give you suggested ranges for just an aftermarket exhaust or just filter pods or both. But remember they are just starting points. You might have to tweak for max power and for the rev range that you are looking for. Again it depends on what changes have been made to the bike. LOL I just noticed that you put 750 carbs on a 650, doubt that they would have starting ranges for you. What is the difference from 650 carbs to 750 carbs. If the throat diameter didnt change, you might want to go back to your original carbs.

I believe that the only differences are the jet sizes b/t 650 and 750 carbs, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

the shop manual ( Haynes) lists different jets depending on if its US or Euro, nitwit US laws demanding a too lean mix.....has anyone w/ a 650 US xj Seca tried the Euro spec jets???

Joel, I'll confirm the 650/750 carb statement. I simply had to switch main jets as well as the jet needle, and the main and pilot air jets. Easy day.

I recomend the dyno-jet stage 1 and 3 kit. It comes ready to work with any setup you have on your bike. I was really suprised at how easy it was to install. And the proformance I get out of my bike is night and day compared to when it was stock. I'm running a 4 into 1,k&n podS and have my carbs jetted with 1 and 3 setups as well as accel coils and my bike is a lot faster thats for sure. Its actually cheaper to order the kit from mawonline.com than it is to order tham from the manufacturer in las vegas. my kit came to about 100$ i think and it was worth every penny!

What does the "stage" number refer to? I'm pretty sure I need to rejet, and I'm trying to get some education here.

How do you decide which kit is needed, and how is it that you are running stage 1 AND 3 kits?

I'm sorry if this makes me an idiot, but i've spent a lot of time online trying to figure this out before I asked. Thanks.

how do the "stage" jets compare to whats listed in the Haynes as "euro"- meaning non US emmissions required over lean condition- jet sizes?? What are the jet sizes in these kits?

the reason why I ask is that i'm thinking about replaceing my rusted exhaust system with some strait exhaust piping I have left over from a project.
