Martin Motorsports in Boyertown has an 82 Maxim with 11,000 miles for sale. Its listed as a mechanics special and says it needs work. didnt see any pictures but thought I would share the info if anyone in the area is looking for a project or a spare bike.
google Martin Motorsports and choose the Boyertown location, they have two.

hey fonz, I don't live too far from Martins. I have been there a few times. They just opened their new location in Boyertown this past summer, very nice dealership. I went there for a Triumph day. they had a triumph tractor trailer there and gave bike demo rides. I rode a Tiger and a Thurxton. Lotst - o - fun.

I see you have an 81 seca 550. I just got one yesterday! Mine was worked on by a guy near Reading (Ken's cycle repair. He is a vintage Jap bike nut and I think he really like Yammies). My bike is pretty stock and pretty nice, complete with the little fairing. That really sold the bike for me. Not a complete restoratin but a nice clean up and once over with many new parts. I went out for a nice ride today since it was so nice out. Lots of fun, especialy when you wind her out..... Yikes!

I am not mechanical so I would never attempt a restore job myself, but it is amazing what you guys do.

I will get some pix up the board here soon.

    I live near Oley, PA

    hey,
mine is pretty stock too, for now anyway. I had my eye on an 06 Triumph Scrambler they had at Martins a while back but I couldnt bring myself to part with 6 grand when I already have the seca that runs and a Honda that I never work on. You goin to the Oley Swap coming up? i might check it out, its supposed to be good.

I could use the motor, if you can get more information about the bike.

Re: just a heads up. saw a 750 Maxim for sale in PA- UPDATE

I bought this bike back in June, just sold it last week - just stumbled across this post. It had a blown main fuse (which is why it wouldn't even turn over). Put new tires on it, new front brake pads, adjusted rear brakes. Changed out all the fluids and filters and put 1200 miles on it before selling. It had some sort of issue with second gear though, where it would shift hard into second at higher rpm's.

I thought that was the same bike. How good was Martins with dealing with the bike? I have never talked with anyone who purchased a used bike from them.
