a picture would be great if anyone had one. my carbs were 16.5, 18, 14, 14.5

I used a YCIS tool and a Morgan Carbtune I gave it gas until the carb tune gave a steady reading...I hope I did it right.

    Actual numbers not important.

Set the idle to between 1200-1500 rpm.

#3 has no adjustment screw (other than the big knob. It is "home base.")

The screws you adjust are the rather large ones on the carb linkage between the carbs; left to right seated on the bike is 1-4. #1 and #2 have screws, then the fixed #3 doesn't and then #4 has a screw.

Adjust #4 until it matches #3.

Adjust #1 until it matches #2.

Adjust #2 (it is "married to" and will bring #1 along) to match #3.

Readjust idle to whatever is correct for your bike after you remove the tool.

Revs too high will start to take you beyond just the idle circuit; as you sync you will need to keep turning the idle down (usually.)

If the thing starts racing and misbehaving in general, it's getting hot. Shut it down for a few then proceed.

Use a discount-store box fan as a substitute for running down the road.

Blip between adjustments, and make VERY SMALL adjustments.

    It's fun, honest.

    You need a book.
