All this time I have had the bike, I have only just noticed now that it has NGK BP7ES spark plugs. Not only the wrong heat range, but not resistance type plugs. They were the only new parts on the bike when I got it. Lucky I checked before I rode any distance in this hot weather.

Are the BPR8ES plugs are readily available in bike shops in Australia?

Will I have to do the Colourtune mixtures again, when I get the right plugs?

They are used in a lot of bikes. I'd think they'll be easy to find.

No. You don't colortune with the spark plug in anyhow.

Anyhow, the difference in heat range is insignificant. As I understand things the resistor plug is used primarily to reduce RF electrical noise.

Check your plug caps for 5k ohms resistance, if you have these don't use 'R' plugs, if you run both your spark will be weak.

They are a common plug, when i changed mine the bike shop had run out so i got some from Bursons, was probably cheaper as well. try Repco as well.
