Just had a random guy ask if he could buy my bike?

    So I was out for a ride this evening when I followed what looked like an old seca into a gas station. Turns out it was not. Any way...

    While refueling I had a guy with a pick up come up and ask what it was. Explained a little bit about it. Asked what he rides. Said that he has a Harley he is trying to sell but that he is super intrigued by the maxim x. Probably asked me 5 times what I would take for it..

    Wanted to know if I had the title, What I paid for it yada yada yada..

    We were heading the same way and he said he had never seen a "cruiser" witch a 5 valve and such a high redline. The grin on his face was priceless when I took off burying second.

    Sooo, I take it you're back on the road (yah, I'm out of the loop/not riding but looking hard!!!)

    I wonder when someone will start making another cruiser with an I-4 engine that doesn't look like it came from a Michael Bay movie (no offense to anyone)...

    Yeah I have been out riding for about a month now. Got a really weird nasty scar, and my foot still has a bit of a numb spot lol.. But I am fine and so is the bike. I told the guy probably not gonna happen lol.

    This weekend a buddy is helping me do the carbs, valves, brake lines, and pads. AND POSSIBLY a fork rebuild while its out. 5 day weekend lol.

    When I get it repainted and my led lights put on it... You guys will get pictures.

    if you do the fork rebuild, put in new springs, under a benjamin and a world of difference.

    tell him 5k and its his, haha, thattl tell ya if he really wants it!

    I had a couple of guys ask me how mauch for my XJ550RJ earlier this summer " I replied not for sale you can't buy motorcycles like this anymore " then I drove off lol

    What would you recommend? It is a maxim x.



    And yeah guys I absolutely love it. There's no way its going anywhere. Pretty sure I will always own it. The cosmetic stuff is for me. One of my turn signals is still smashed from the wreck (cover and mount) so i decided to go LED while I am it. Eventually I will bondo the tank and do a repaint. But I love her.


    Still need to try and top out 4th gear at some point :twisted: lol


    I told the guy the only other bike I would like at this point is like 5k so if he wants it bad to let me know hahaha.

    I have had people as well approach me on buying my 1982 XJ650RJ with 14k miles. I think it helps when I have a collector's license plate on it as well. I hope you are having fun showing it off.
