    New to the forum, just wanted to say hello to everyone! I recently purchased a 1982 Maxim XJ650 from a friend of mine, with 20,000 miles. I paid 500 dollars, and it runs great. Has its fair share of minor visual problems, but hey, for 500 bucks, it's awesome! I love this bike, and hope to learn alot here, seeing as it's my first motorcycle. I've been into ATV's and Dirtbike's all my life, though.

    Welcome to you JW! Nice score, your in for a treat. Those 650s are about the most stable, docile handling things around. Great first/second bike. Get yourself the maintenance manual (Haynes is my personal favorite aftermarket) and a copy of the XJCD sold here on our site. You'll have that bike ironed out pretty quick.
