I'm installing a K&N filter (YA_7080) on my stock XJ700. Just wondering if the increase in air flow is going to cause the bike to run lean? Will I need to do any carb mods?

According to K&N its a STOCK air filter . meaning the same as.

"Designed to fit factory air box. Million mile warranty. High air flow. Increased performance. Washable and reusable. "

I want to eliminate the airbox altogether and use individual air filters on each carb ( POD TYPE) But being that they are not in the airbox i feel there may be a problem with too much airflow. no one has yet told me yeah or nay on if it will affect it.

but i am still stuck on spark issues to worry about that at this time

If the Engine was designed to run well with Individual Pods installed rather than the AirBox ... there be an addendum with Special Tuning for how to do the Tuning for them.

    Pods require RE-Jetting.
    There are Kits.
    There are instructions.
You could hire Veteran Technicians to do the Kits and Install the Pods.
The bike is still going to need to be Tweaked.
    And ... Tweaked ... and,
    Tweaked again
    and again!

But, you'll get it "Pretty Close" after a while!
