After my little slide my ignition came off, which of course had my key. (And my nifty Manitoba Key chain that had my name on it)

My question is when I buy a new ignition can I also get a new seat lock? I only had one key and it's gone now. Or would I have to have two separate keys?

Doesn't sound like you were able to recover the ignition...
If you found an ignition with the same keyway as your tank & seat locks you could get back to one key once it's re-keyed the same as the other 2. If not, you'll have one key for ignition and one for tank and seat locks.

I have ignition cylinders for XJ750's and some seat lock and gas cap cylinders. Not sure if they would fit but maybe Len could answer that question.

I have two keys to my bike it really isnt that bad. Yeah it would e nice to have just one but it isn't worth tearing the ign. out to get it rekeyed. If you ahve to change it out anyway take either your gas cap (easy to remove) or seat lock with you when you buy a new ign. to the lock smith land he should be able to fix you right up.

If you do still have the originall ign or the pwer part of it there is a code on it that identifies the key to it. U may pay a bit more but a yammi dealer may be able to order you an ignition and keys already setup for your bike. Not sure if it would be mor eor less than buying a ihn and then going to a locksmith
