Just a thought - and I'm thinking tail/brake light here, not turn signals.
Has anyone compared these two styles of LED bulbs to see which makes better light & pattern in our brake light housing?
Has anyone seen both firsthand to see how they look?

I think you'll want the top one, but check out this post. alot of info there on the same bulbs.

The top bulb will spread light 360 deg completely filling the lens with light. where the other bulb is somewhat directional. It's the same bulb to use in the turn signals also. It's all in that post check it out.

That's the point of this post actually -- that one is an excellent discussion of the bulbs themselves, this one is about a direct comparison.

Just trying to see if anyone has ACTUALLY tried them side-by-side to see which makes better brake lights.

The tower style certaily look like they make more light, and I'm sure they're the ones you want for our turn signals for sure. However, they only have 3 (or I've seen some with 5) diodes on "top" -- so facing straight back when in the brake light housing.

The other style has more diodes facing straight back, and some around the circumference to make use of the reflectors.

So this begs the question -- which style ACTUALLY looks / works better in the brake light?
