Just 2 blocks away, a family was having a yard sale. Actually it was worse, they were losing their house and were clearing up before moving. The fellow that had this was the original owner and had title/registration & keys. It also came with a second engine purported to have about 5K on it. He wanted $400, I gave him $250 (could have been less, but I felt bad for the guy.) I don't know what I'll do yet, unfortunately the guy left it in his backyard for the last 15 years so the chrome is ruined, the tank looks scarey, ... you guys know the drill.

I really don't have room for this and my wife was out at relatives when I pushed this home last night. I'm not looking forward to her return

    WOWZAS!!!

It's NOT that bad, really. EASY resto, potential gold mine (or at least the opportunity to make a nice little pile of cash, anyway.)

I had a '66 Honda 160, the thing was VERY well engineered and a really neat little bike. Get that one running and you're liable to fall in love with it for zipping about the neighborhood. Maybe your wife will learn to ride it.

    Very cool.

    I remember those............. :D

The wife more than likely will not understand.....but there are ways about dealing with that.

Could aways claim that its a "green " bike....gets 90mpg and silent when it runs. Way before its time ........Never say its not going to cost much.... It has two wheels.....They only go for that once...

I'm pretty sure that's the engine that the "Chinese" minis use that are 110 CC, so you can shelve the old motors and run a "new" one if you like.

    I woulda bought it !!

Oh I SO would have bought it even though I have absolutely no room in my tiny garage. It could go in a corner of the dining room for now (rental.)

Those little motors are like timepieces; as long as the cylinders and rings are good the original engine will run fine.

It's just too cool. My 160 had that goofy mudflap too; part of the charm.

Back in 1965, when I was a Sophomore in High School, we used to get a four page booklet handed-out to us, every Friday, in Science class. "Science Weekly Reader."

Honda ads always dominated the whole back page.

At first, it was the ad for the Honda-50.

The Scooter-looking 50cc Bike in Red and White underneath a huge, simple
    " $249.00 ".

Then, this ad took over the back cover and the Great Japanese Motorcycle Invasion began, in earnest.

    Honda Super90 $379.00

Geeze guys, I was trying NOT to get attached to it...

But it's so retro cool and kinda cute! Last night I started thinking, okay, I'll just clean it up enough to get it running. Then this morning as I was looking at it the juices started flowing and I started figuring how far to take the restoration. Then I looked at the other engine, it's complete except for intake manifold and carb. We'll see :)

    This is an addiction...

and all you guys are unrepentant enablers!

list it as is, original, on ebay and make a pile 'o money. don't waste time on it, if you don't love it. Sometimes just flipping things is the best option.

Nice find! It takes me back...way back to 1967. My dad came home with a new bike for my brother. A brand-new, shiny white Honda 65. No helmets or any safety gear, just "hop on kids and ride!" My brother had me jump on back without any passenger foot pegs, then decided to pop a wheelie causing my left foot to get caught and pulled between the tire and the rear fender. The bike stalled and fell over mid wheelie when my ankle hit the shock. We had to remove the wheel to get the mangled remains of my foot out. My ankle had a nice 90 deg. bend. I still limp a bit with a slightly shorter left leg. The following year I inherited the Honda when my brother got a Hodaka. I inherited the Hodaka a coupla years later. To this day, I'll never ride on the back!
