Looking for a write up

    Bought a1985 Yamaha xj700 maxim n, looking for a write up on what to check on the bike. So far I've cleaned the carbs.

    Specifically, check your valves, brake lines, rear brakes shoes, change oil, thoroughly clean carbs, check tires, check front brake pads calipers and master cylinder, clean and repackage wheel bearings, lights and electrical system. Lots of little things add up to a safe machine.

    The 700's do not have the old school fuse boxes prone to failure, They already have blade fuses.

    In addition to what was mentioned above: fork seals/oil, steering head and swingarm bearings, check petcock for functionality, tank for rust, inline fuel filter
