... on the best (cheapest) was to ship a motor. '82 XJ750 - I am assuming it weighs more than 100 lbs, so cheapest option I know of, Greyhound, is out. Anyone else have suggestions?

I seem to recall someone saying these things weigh about 150lbs, but I can't find any info and no one came up with any here when I posted last week. :-(

    TIA

I haven't even tried shipping that size of an item for personal reasons, but at work, I always use a common LTL freight carrier. I just build a small crate to fit and secure the engine, get a weight on the whole package, and call it in. If I run into any shipping issues for personal stuff, I always start by calling the local Post office and they can direct you to your best avenue of attack.
