All original... except for the speedo (should be an 85mph model), and the rear rim, and the front rim, and the rotors (all from the 650 Turbo).

Might not be a bad thing though, could mean that the brake lines were already replaced. Hard to tell without a close up pic.

More than likely has some pretty tight valves with that mileage.

Nice find for the price though.

More fun if you check with the dealer to make sure is in running condition, such as valve clearances and such, and then go pick it up and ride it home ...

You could call some freight companies and get a quote. Know any long distance truck drivers? Perhaps you could find one to put it on a load and bring it back with them for a minimal cost?

I'd guess $500-$700, IF the guy would crate it up for you.

Cheaper just to rent a trailer and spend a couple days driving down and back.

See the deal is-Im not as much concerned in the running condition, cause the 650 Seca is the platform for the next build I wanna do. Going by the pics alone Im not afraid to gamble $500 cuz I can see everything is there that I need. I plan on going thru everything regardless.
However, it would appear I may have jumped the gun on this decision on this one. as the Chief of Operations around here apparently doesnt share my enthusiasm about a new motorcycle at this time. She thinks I should wait to find one a little closer to home. So I agree, cuz this happens to me all the time-(seeing a bike I think I need & start making plans).
So here it is folks-Im in the market for an '82 650 Seca, main concerns are a straight frame & forks, preferrably a motor that blows strong compression, for around $500. Its time to pull the trigger for the build Ive wanted to do for some time now. I hope a member here winds up with this one in the ad, sure looks like a good one.

And I am pretty certain the one in the ad will go for well over $1k ...

    dm,

It is nice; however, I would not have known those things that tskaz pointed out that are not original parts. Got another question...that is a RJ right? Some members may not know the difference between a Maxim and a Seca.

    Yes, it is a 650R.

Also has non-stock rear shocks, and those do look like the original front lines.

Still a fine example of a stock 650R.

Looks like all you'd have to do to it is change the fusebox, change the brakes, check the valves, and go through the carbs.

It even has the original tool kit and chain/lock.

    My guess is around $1300
