I think i have found 1 of the cleanest maxim 750 83 in the us. Has a little over 3400 miles. Needs a battery i think it needs a carb clean and sync also just looking at pipes 1 and 4. Will have to do all the usual xj stuff over the winter check brakes adjust valves go thru the front hydraulics and brake hoses tires ect. I have 2 rd's and a 96 nighthawk 750 . I like the look of the maxim i bought 1 new in 82. I am partially handicapped and need a lower seat height then the honda. 1.jpg 1.jpg 3.jpg 1.jpg 3.jpg 5.jpg 1.jpg 3.jpg 5.jpg

Thanks If i can ever get over and pick this thing up. Was supposto go today we have had 2 inches of rain and its still raining don't wanna drive the suv out back with puddles. Gonna try and get the trailer out this afternoon sometime have it hooked up. 200 mile round trip. Go thru the bike over the winter replace all the brake hoses tires rear shoes. I should have kept the x. I realized after i sold it and drove the honda around i am not comfy riding it its s very tall bike i feel like i am sitting on top of it. Where the maxim i feel like i am part of the bike. But what the heck glad i found a almost brand new 83 xj that looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Time to start polishing all the aluminum

The fun will begin this week. My 2 rd's went to a very nice collector they will have a better life the me. I put a battery in in about a week or so ago. I have a nice set of regular bars. But first all the fun stuff check the valves i need to rebuild the carbs it takes way to long to warm up along with all the fun things to check and replace. But for the 5500 i made on the rd's wont be long and i will have a list for len

With the cost of the tires brake hoses and hydraulics orings for the carbs shoes if needed will have about 1500 to 1600 in it not bad for a 3400 mile new bike. runs good no smoke just takes over 5 min to warm up where you can turn the choke off

Took the bike up the street and moved it it into the other garage with the lift. I do need to clean and set the floats. I believe the floats are to low but will find out when i pull them. Only other thing i noticed the tach works fine to 3k then it hangs will need to disassemble clean out the old grease and re lube .Even tho its electronic i still think there is some sort of grease Hopefully will get started in a few days on it. Had the flu since new years eve. Now they say temps are gonna drop to 30s hi and teens low starting wed guess i will need to get fuel for the heater

I had a similar problem with the tach on my 700 last spring. A spider got in there and built a nest.
