Losing gas milage

    Last year i could ride my bike 100+ miles before i had to switch to the reserve. This year I only seem to be getting to 80-85 miles before it starts to chug and I have to switch to reserve. Any advice on what to check first?

    my gas mileage goes to heck when I drive like a maniac
    I am getting about 85 miles before switching
    I do think I have a float level that is off.. but I don't have
    time to fix it till fall
    once it warms up it is great running

    my bike has had the carbs rebuilt synced and tuned and had the valves adjusted I get 90 miles before I have to switch but I keep the bike above 6k alot.

    When was the last valve clearance check

    What it the condition of the slide needle and emulsion tube?

    Just got home to all the responses, valve clearances were just done like a hundred miles ago(this problem was happening before the valves were done too, it that helps any). Air filter is nice and clean, Carbs were cleaned last year, so it's looking like i might have a stuck float?
