Low volt at idle xj700 aircooled

    Hi. Just found that my 85 xj700 aircooled bike do not charge battery at idle, but the volt comes when the rpm increases to approx 2000rpm. Anyone know what can be done to fix? Or is it normal....

    Some numbers would help to be sure. At approximately 2000 RPM and above the battery voltage should be 14.5 VDC +/- .3 V with a fully charged battery.
