Magpie feathers: purple or blue?

    I am having a discussion about the correct color in Magpie feathers (let's say European Magpie, although I think this applies to most sorts). Some (including Wikipedia) say it is "purple". I say it is shiny Prussian blue. My question is: does anyone have hard proof one way or the other? Not a personal opinion but something that I could refer to in this discussion. Some scientifically solid website or something?
