    That's a very old trick, it works great on steel or cast iron parts. Do not do that on aluminum side covers.
    To make gaskets for aluminum side covers.
    1- Rough cut a piece of gasket material to size.
    2- Apply contact cement to material and mating surface of cover and let dry
    3- Stick cover and rough gasket together.
    4 - Trim excess with Xacto of other razor knife. Cut bolt holes with same knife.

    Agreed. Hylomar isn't a universal replacement for gaskets.

    I have a bunch of gasket paper thicknesses, a set of metric hole punches and a stanley knife.
    Head, header and valve cover gaskets... I still have to buy but the rest are taken care of.

    Liked the video but probably a bit damaging on all the alloy bits on the yammy.
    Gotta love the hammer work!
