Ok this is probably a dumb questions but not sure how things go down for Memorial rides and Poker Run.
I would like to join in on one or two of these rides but have never been at any and don't have any buddies that ride to join me.
Does anyone have the basics on these type of rides, I will be traveling alone.
How do I know if they are just for Harleys or is this that not normal.
There are a ton of these rides in NW ohio and thought it would be cool to join in.
    Thanks,
    Brian

Here is an example of a ride i did in early june of this year.

Ride for Dad - fundraising ride to help fight prostate cancer.

Registration began at 7:00am ride began at 10:00.
Usually registering for the ride gets you a bag of goodies from the sponsor (key chain, coupons for rebates, etc.)

If the ride is a big enough event it usually is an escorted ride for a portion of it, until you reach the first check point. then after that you are on your own to the next check point. At each check point you can strech your legs, have a smoke, talk to other bikers, oogle the chicks and the bikes.

The poker run portion is quite simple... When you register you get a card and an "Official" from the organizing event validates your card in a small book, at the next check point there will be a booth and you can get another card.. and so on for all check points. At the last check point (end of the ride) you get a card but you can also pruchase up to 2 more cards to make the best hand possible.

And usually all motorcycle enthusiests are welcome...

Of course there is always some HD a$$hole who don't want you parking "your piss o shit next to my bike" because, of course your bike is old so you probably don't care about it....

But all in all it's usually a blast....

    Pics in my Gallery.....

There is a Memorial ride (police escort) for a Officer that was killed in the line of duty here in Toledo Ohio this Saturday.
Weather forcast looks good, so I think I will polish the XJ and give it a try.
Thanks Again for the info and heads up.
