I have a 1982 XJ750 Maxim, and like many others, I am missing the right side/battery cover. I've been searching without success to find one.

So, I got thinking...... With so many people looking for right side covers out there, is there a conspiracy going on that would link all those missing covers with all the people with missing socks from the dyer?

well on certain bikes it's the left. It IS ALWAYS the battery cover. that's the one people take off and put on all the time, break the tabs, mis align and lose down the road somewhere etc etc.

Yeah, but I don't find many socks lying on the pavement!

I've worked as an apartment maintenance tech, (to include appliance repair, plumbing and duct cleaning)

I know where the socks and many other things go. Believe me, you don't want them back.

I do too. I have never lost a pair of shoes while operating or traveling in a vehicle. I just don't get it.

I have never seen a side cover laying along the side of the road. After I lost mine, I looked.
