It would require some mods to your electrical system due to the higher current draw and it's not a "motorcycle" pattern lens.

And in Australia, they drive on the left hand side of the road - so the beam is likely to dazzle oncoming drivers.

I read the article - and cannot believe H4 halogen bulbs are illegal in the US!!!

I hate those things. Yes, you may be able to see better. But what about that little lady, or that drunk driver, or that new kid behind the wheel that CANT SEE A DANG THING and they crash and kill everyone in the car, and 4 little kids....
HATE those stupid super bright lights

Don't. It's not true. I'm running perfectly legal, motorcycle pattern Halogen H4 headlamps in both of my 550s. They're not illegal at all. As a matter of fact, the "Euro" lens is legal as well, FOR MOTORCYCLES.

You believe everything you read on the innanet?

    Wanna see a pic?

90% of replaceable motorcycle bulbs in the US are H4. Standard equipment on our Secas back in the day. If you have a motorcycle bulb AND lens on your ride, and it is properly adjusted, no driver would be blinded by the headlight. Well, except maybe the drunk driver, they would most likely be on the wrong side of the road anyways.

As far as those countries that drive on the "wrong" side of the road(laugh, it's a joke) my headlight will adjust 10ft from center at a distance of 25ft out from the bike, on EITHER side.

Well we gotta get on the "Adjust Your Friggin H4 Lights!!" Committee here in DC cause all the "Cool Kids" got the super bright lights, and they blind EVERYTHING.
Everyone thinks they are a cool kid in DC btw.. :Rolls eyes: Too much for this country boy to handle

LOL Hey, SLKid, I'd sign that petition!

That's the problem with people replacing their own lights, they don't realize that, car or bike, whenever they replace a bulb in a composite system that they NEED to do the adjustment. When done correctly, the lights are awesome, and nobody gets blinded. But HL adjustment is becoming a lost artform anymore.

I think us country boys can agree that the "cool kids" are not as cool as they think, no matter which city they live in. And they sure as h3ll don't care about doing it right.

No! Don't believe what you read and only half of what you see!!!

I have posted before the best bike headlight I had was a Cibie H4 60/55w Halogen. It had an asymetric dip (Flat with a flip up on the left to illuminate the verge - as I drive on the wrong side. I guess that is what you mean Fitz?).

    It was excellent!

They brought out a later one called a "Z beam" which had a stepped beam, but I didn't think it was as good.

had to have the pic, didn't you.

NOTE on the SuperBlu (on the right) if you look carefully you can see, cast into the lens' glass, the word "MOTORCYCLE" across it.

That's what I meant. Both of these H4's are specifically for motorcycles; the one on the left is the Hella Euro that Len carries.

In the States, the beam is flat-topped with a flip-up to the right.
