i would love to change my bike over to a monoshock but it seems to be a huge pain. if im correct the xj600 is monoshock. if so are the bikes similar enough to simplify the conversion if i effectively swap the rear portion of the frame, the swingarm and so on compared to completely fabricating everything from scratch?

Search the site as this has/is being done. On off road bikes we refer to this suspension as Mono-hop, the difference being linked and non-linked with the XT, IT, and YZ, the latter being suspension challenged.
