    It's St. Louis and 18 deg F outside, now how does she expect you to get hurt on a motorcycle???

    I think bikes are a lot safer than cars. In 40 years of riding I've never had an accident or even got a ticket but I've been in at least a dozen car wrecks. Most of them were riding with friends or from getting hit by another car. The bike must be harder to hit although several have tried.
    Of course how you make out on a bike depends on whether you are a good driver and someone who's reckless or a poor driver is still going to have problems no matter what they drive.
