my first build 1982 xj550 now done

    My xj550 now done and below before any work

    The image i was looking at online

    First parts back from powder coating

    Then swing arm came back

    So i polished back brake drum and painted

    Then put the back wheel all back together

    Then some more polishing

    Front forks 15 coats matt black then 10 clear coat

    Got frame back and now comes the work of seat and then putting it back together. This is where i see if the red and black look good with some polished parts in there.

    Have just ordered new grips ,led turn lights, air filtets,crankshaft breather,new bolts.

    Top yoke and bars on just looking at seat as i want to make my own seat with this been my first build but i do not want it to look like s… if you now what i mean as i have been looking on line and some do not look good.

    Ok will start with rebuild now then look at seat later

    Put engine back in it is looking how i wanted it to :lol:

    Carbs on and chain cover now on to the wireing loom good times

    Now do i buy now shocks as bike was stud for 18 months beforei got it no i will do some work and polish them up good times once more :-X

    Now for the tank matt black

    Head light on dose look good as i dropped the clocks adout 1in lower than they where

    Now to the back end

    The back end is not bent it just that i was not stud right when i tuck it ha ha ..... shoot gun shells as i did see it on here and was only going to put black grommets it them now they look good , wiah they where remingtion and not british hull ones but what ever you can get . Had to keep the light as i like the look had to make a new bracket for number plate as you will se in next photo , PLESAE bo not laugh it was the only cardbourd i could find from when are dog had puppys ha ha

    Anyway this has left me 2in gap i am hoping this is ok i have stifened up shocks will have to see.

    Have just put crank brether on and air fillters is looking just as i wanted it to
