Well I got some photos of my bike in teardown status.

Ive photoshopped one to see what my planned frame mod would look like.

Im going to see about having the local blacksmith shop do the cutting and welding.

blacksmith eh? have him make you a spiffy new suit of armor while hes at it. Or better still, see if you can snag one of his hammers to mount on the frame somewhere for general repairs and highway intimidation ;)
Seriously though that mod is going to look very very cool, wish i had the stones to hack mine up. maybe some day soon....

Thanks, I just noticed I forgot to put the shock back in...so that will be there...new one anyway.

Ya....its official name is The Dalles Ironworks. From what Ive been told that building has been there for the better part of 150 years. At least its been the same business on the same site for that long. They were making horseshoes for horses on the Oregon Trail.

Thanks. The rear tire is 130mm of course, so i went with a 6" rear fender and it worked well. I have an extra chrome fender i didn't need if anyone wants it.

How much are you asking for the fender? I've got a XJ 700 that I need to measure it for, and if the price is right along with the fit I would be very interested, I'd like to do sort of the same thing on my bike. Send me a PM.

I went with Progressive shocks, i plan to add chrome covers in the spring. I saw a guy on a old school harley slammed to the ground and the bike had rear shocks with chrome covers, way cool.
