I have seen a few of you post where you ride so I thought I would share with you all the short ride I went on this morning. My total ride was a hair more than 55 miles and took about an hour and a half with stopping to take the pictures. I would have a few more but my camera died on me so I didn't get any of the 15 mile stretch back to Rapid.

This is a view west from just past Dinosaur Park here in the heart of Rapid City.

Here is another view going kind of north west from the same location.

Here is one looking east from a little ways past the park.

Here is one last view of Rapid looking south east as I am headed toward the top of Skyline Drive.

After I got off of Skyline Dr. and toward the edge of town I turn onto Sheridan Lake Rd. This is a short stretch of that road just outside of city limits.

About 5 miles outside of the city limits you will start running into signs like this. Curvy road signs are every where as well... I just don't think I got a picture of any of them.

Here we have the end of Sheridan Lake Rd. Not surprisingly we have Sheridan Lake. Its a great place to come to in the summer for camping, fishing and what not.

Here is Highway 385. My connecting road to anywhere in the hills. It runs all the way from Hot Springs down south to Deadwood in the northern hills and is an absolutely beautiful lazy day ride.

Here is shot from along Hwy 385 headed north. Little farm houses and what what not are common throughout the hills.

Here is Pactola Reservoir. This was the second of 3 lakes I passed today on my ride. Also another great summer attraction. History note: The mining town of Pactola is at the bottom of the lake.

One last look at Pactola from another spot around the lake.

From there I went about another 3 miles and connected with Highway 44 and headed back into Rapid City. While on Hwy 44 you pass Canyon Lake as you enter Rapid from the west. All in all not a bad ride. When I get a camera and the bike both working the way I want them to I will hit Spearfish Canyon. Now that is some gorgeous scenery!
