    Hi everyone.
    First of all, awsome forum.
Just bought my xj650 and getting my liscense on tuesday (if all goes well).

I am going to try and do a quickfix with some prematex today but that will not be a final solution so thats why I want to ask on the forum if anyone has a set of the rubber intakes that join the carb to the head.

    Thanks!

If yours are not cracked all the way through RTV can extend the life somewhat. Chacal at XJ4Ever is the local vender on the site. He has them. If you click on the logo in right side of the header bar, you will be able to access a wealth of information, including his catalogue. He has both OEM and aftermarket parts for XJs. You may find some used ones, but beware of the condition.

    Thanks for the information.
I have hardly got any sleep since i found this forum, so much knowledge to take in!
Ill attach a photo of the RTV patchup i did today.
Removed the carb and then put it all back together again. Quite easy I would say since I have no previous experience with motorcycles, or engines whatsoever.

    Ivar,

Something that has been done before for appearance is to use a section of bicycle inner tube to cover the RTV after patching. You might want to do this since you used such an obviously different color (than black) mix.

Hehe, yeah the thought occurred to me...
They only carried blue permatex in the store so what to do...

Anyhow, I dont care too much about how stuff looks, im planning to tear it apart this coming autumn when I get access to a workshop.
