So i wanna ditch the ape hanger stock handlebars. I was thinking a clubman style bar. Has anyone done this or have some info on what to use, any issues, do's or dont's, etc......

I never realy got into the cafe look myself, but i do like the look of drag bars on dog bone risers, which is what i plan on for my 80 XJ650.

WELCOME!!! Several of the members that went with the cafe style look used the clubman bars. Like streetmaster said dragbars have been used. A couple have used "dirt bike" bars. Both looked GOOD. One had bars in regular position and one had them turned upside down. Whatever you settle on, be sure everything clears your tank  ...

BTW I've got a pic of a really old Harley with bars that I like (turned over)

Shorter handle bars require shorter cables. Stock 'ape hangers' to clubman is a big change and you'll definitely need different cables or a cable shortening kit. Sometimes you can fudge it but don't make them bend on any weird angles.
