Replaced battery and plugs. Now I get lights but hit ignition to start and lights dim and no start. Not even a sound attempting to start.

I would try and push or bum start ( not on the 401 lol ) - could also check current to starter - got a feeling that if it was running last fall the starter may be the problem - good luck from Barrie

Any clicking or humming sounds? Problem is likley in the starter solenoid or button.

Honestly this thing hasnt ran in two years.
Last time it ran all it needed was a battery.

Well, honestly, it's now going to need more than just a battery if it's sat for two years.

Start by quickly bypassing the solenoid; jump a screwdriver across the two big terminals on the solenoid.

You'll get some sparks, but the starter should also spin. If not, the starter itself may need attention.

But spinning over isn't going to be the only challenge. You've got some carb work to do.
