    Hi all,
I just picked up an '82 750 Maxim as a first bike. It has 34K miles and seems to run pretty good. It does need some work. I've been lurking here for a while trying to learn as much as possible. The bike was idling a little rough so I took the carbs off and cleaned them as much as I could without taking them completely apart,(I'll do that later) then I built my own sync tool and found the carbs way out of sync. I adjusted them with my homemade tool and now the bike runs much smoother. not perfect but much better than before. This site has been a great help since I know absolutely nothing about bikes. I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions so I just wanted to say hello and thank everybody in advance.
