    Hello Everyone,

I am new to this site, and I have to say, everything I have seen thus far has been absolutely top notch. I can't wait to get some stuff up in the XJ Mods section. I decided to post just a little about myself and my bike with this short hello and thank you.

    Myself:
Soon to be 22 year old engineering student. Another semester and I'll finish my electrical engineering degree. I am absolutely head over heals for anything with 2 wheels and old hot rods. I am currently restoring a 1950 Chevy Coupe and my newly acquired 82 XJ650 J Maxim.

    My Bike:
1982 XJ650 J Maxim. Black. 20K and running like a swiss watch. I am currently on holiday from university and planning my upcoming resto for the bike. I am going for a clean and laid back cruiser kind of style. But I will open with a new (custom) wiring harness that is completely concealed, custom remote start and keyless operation (probably keycode start, or possible a fingerprint module if Fujitsu stops jerking me around). And, LED's and Halogen's are probably going to make their way into there as well. I am currently working on the schematics, but when I get something discernable, you'll be the first to know. (Special thanks to the University of Kansas for picking up the tab and providing the software, design tools and CB milling machines).

Anyway, thanks again to all who post and share their knowledge. I can't wait to get more involved with the site and if there is anything I can do to help anyone let me know.

Nice touch hiding the harness, good luck on that. Sounds like you have some great ideas. I look forward to seeing your efforts.
