My tach light went out. Anyone know a local place to pick one up? What are the specs? So far all I found is 12v at 3.4w. Xj550. anyone know where to find instructions for changing out the bulbs? thanks, nik

You need a standard 194 automotive bulb which can be found at any auto parts store. You may have to remove the meters to get to the bulbs. Teh chrome back is attached with I think 2 screws. Once you get the chrome out of the way you will see the wires going into the back of the tach case with a rubber plug around the wire. The bulb socket is in that rubber plug. Pull it out which may require removing a screw and replace the bulb.

Perfect! My tach bulb has been out ever since I got the bike and was meaning to ask if anyone here knew what the bulb number was before I tore it apart. I'm planning on replacing them this weekend and was hoping to get that information before hand. Thanks.

Wasnt hard to replace at all. Got an LED cluster from autozone which looks exactly like the old backlight when installed. Except this one draws less current and will work until the bike rusts into the ground.
