    Hello All

20 years ago I was riding a Honda CB750 (dinosaur).
Got away from riding for a long time, and whenever I thought about getting another bike, I'd see some idiot on the road cut one off or something else dangerous. Decided that where I lived and worked was not the place to ride.
Fast forward to now....live and work in a much more rural setting with light traffic and long straight roads to work. Gas $ being what it is, needed more than my trucks 14 mpg.

Searched Craigs list for 5-6 weeks and saw some downright horrendous bikes. Finally found one that fit my budget and had potential, an 81 XJ550 Seca for $600.

Drained the tank last night, put in some fresh gas and took it for a little ride up my road. Got the bug BAD now! Went to sleep thinking about it, woke up thinking about it and already I can hear the future "are you working on that damn motorcycle again?"

Glad I found this site. Just looking through there's such a wealth of info and experience to tap into (after I search of course). Although it's Sunday, I'm putting my check in the mail for the XJCD.

Have a happy and safe Memorial Day
    Paul

    Welcome, Paul
What a great area of the country to have a bike. Congrats on your purchase. I just got my Seca after quite a few years bikeless and I am lke you. I have to stop looking out the window or I am gone on the Seca again !
How about a picture of your new prize?
    Enjoy your Memorial Day ride,
    Eric

I'll also welcome you to the gang Paul.
I hope those observations of folly serve to set in your mind just how important good riding skills are. For your own sake, look into a refresher course just to get aquainted with your new steed.

My first bike was a CB750, hell we all had one back then.
