Greetings all, new to to this forum by not very new to motorcycles or XJ's even. I just picked up a 1983 XJ 900 Seca, and am not sure which direction to go just yet...it is still in the back of my truck, lol.

I started riding motorized 2 wheelers in 1976 aboard a '69 Bridgestone 90 2-stroke. Moved on 2 years later to a 1975 Yamaha DT-175, and two years after that to a 1976 Yamaha RD-400; my first of many streetbikes.

I won't bore you with the details, but here is a list of bikes owned mostly in succession, though I have owned and still do more than one at a time...plus my wife rides her own machines as will be noted by a (W). *=current

    1982 Maxim 750
    1984 Kaw 750 E1L Turbo
    1993 Kaw ZX-6E
    1997 BMW R-1100 RT
    2000 Kaw ZX-9R
*2005 Kaw ZX-10R (Much modified and current daily tool)
    2002 Buell Blast (W)
    2003 Suzuki SV-650N (W)
    2006 Kaw Ninja 650R (W)
    *1999 Yamaha TW-200
    *2012 Yamaha TW-200 (W)
    2008 Suzuki DRZ-400S
    1983 Honda CT-110
The next list is bikes I have restored and or customized as 'projects' in my side business.

    1982 Yamaha Vision 550
    2003 Kaw ZRX-1200
    2006 Kaw ZX-10R
    2007 Kaw ZX-10R
    2008 Suzuki GSXR 1000
    1983 Yamaha XS-850 Mid. Special
    1979 HD XL1000 Sportser

I currently am working on customizing a good friends 1979 Motuguzzi V1000 G5 and I bought a 1978 Suzuki GS-550E that is going to get cafe'd, so now I have three projects to juggle with this XJ-900. I know I will find tons of useful info, help, and just good bike talk on this forum. I look forward to meeting you all!

    Z,

PLEASE pm me (click the little 'pm' button). I would like to get your 900rk registered onto the XJ900RK Seca Database for USA-delivered bikes. There's no cost to you at all.

Welcome here, I hope you will enjoy your Seca 900. I just bought a similar bike three weeks ago but I haven't ridden it yet, it is much too cold around here!

Just get a bigger shoe-horn. Get creative. slide them under the workbench, put them up in the attic, keep them at your neighbor's house.......or your mother-in-law's house............

Heck, I only have 20 stashed various places........there's another guy about an hour from me who was at 49 last time we counted.

I'm not sick, just ill. HE'S sick. MAS- Motorcycle Acquisition Syndrome
