    Hey all, I reciently purchased a 83 xj750 maxim, it seems to be running good. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on what to do when you get a new bike, to get is great running condition.

    Welcome aboard. Great purchase, you'll love the '83 model. I have one too and it's quite an enjoyable ride. Best advice for tunning is to get to a carb clinic. Nearest one to you will be in the San Francisco bay area. Maybe too far depending on where you are in Utah.
    Carb clinics are where some of us XJ gearheads get together and tune with colortune plugs and carb sticks. You get experienced tuners who come with the necessary equipment so you can find out how to diy and decide if you want to purchase the tools. Great fun and very educational.
