    Howdy howdy.

I'm a new XJ rider but not new to bikes. I was just given a 1982 Yamaha Maxim XJ750. The bike has about 30,+++ miles on it. It's in need of some TLC - that's how I found this site .... :)

I look forward to hearing from fellow XJ riders and I hope you don't mind me asking questions from time to time.

I will put my "wish list" in the classified section as to what parts I am in need of.

    Thanks
    Stay safe out there!!

    Welcome.

First things first. Check the rear brakes for delamination before you ride it.

Then fill our your signature and location information.

Here a couple of pictures of my bike. It was "laid down' on it's right side so I have some "cosmetic" work to do.....

It is currently in the shop having a 4 to 1 exhaust put on it.

    not a bad looking bike.

You took it to a shop to change the exhaust? 15 minutes and a 10mm wrench could have done it for yourself.

    I know...I know.....

The bike hasn't been run in 6 yrs and I know nothing about tearing the engine/carbs apart. So I took it to a shop and he had it running in no time.

The exhaust that was on it was shot and I had to have it replaced. Since it was there and he too is an XJ rider, he offered to put the exhaust on for the cost of the exhaust only.... I couldn't refuse that!!
