I installed my new to me exhaust the other day. It's a 4-1 Supertrapp system that I purchased from Yamaha4life (thank you). It sounds fantastic. It's also the first time I've been able to ride it at all. I only rode it in close proximity to my shop due to lack of headlight and shitty tires - oh and it's a whopping 30 degrees outside - but it was awesome. I need to change my jetting a little bit. I'm running 118 mains and 42 pilots with pod filters and the 4-1. It loads up at idle so I ordered some 41 pilots from Chacal. I'll try to get some pictures of it in the next day or so and will post a short video when I get it rejetted. Next on the agenda is to build a new choke cable, finish wiring my switches, install my 7" headlight. The clutch slips a bit too, so I'll need to address that at some point. Then I'll be able to ride it legally. Hooray!!

My clutch slips, too. I believe its a common occurrence with these bikes. It may just be the wrong oil. There are threads about clutch slippage and oil.

I had a crappy rear tire when I got the bike. Its a bit scary to ride with bad rubber but the alure of gettting on it and going is too strong sometimes.

Congrats on getting your bike running. Its a wonderful feeling to be on a bike that you have made an improvement to.

    My experience with slipping clutch:

If I use motorcycle oil, designed for a wet clutch, there's no slipping. Unfortunately, this puts all the pressure on second gear, which likes to slip.

If I use motor oil not designed for wet clutch, second gear is fine, but there's some clutch slipping.

I know this doesn't apply to you, but I figured this out in the fall last year. Regarding second gear, if I apply upward pressure to the shifter in second, it doesn't slip. Tolerable so long as I'm not in second for any length of time.
