Nice find. Still looks good ,it should no take much to get it running. Are you going to ride it? I think the XS1100 is a bit faster then your CB900, both are fun bikes.

Yea, Im probably gonna ride it.
I dunno...Turns out my CB900 has an 1100F motor in it!
I really like riding my XS750 though.

I'll be tearing into it today(off until 2009!).

I was getting ready to drive over to Asheville, NC and pick up those 2 XJ550's from pjb03 until the tranny in my pickup started acting up. Nothing like being at the mercy of a mechanic away from home Eh? Especially a Transmission shop! Sorry Pat.

I've been trying to hook up with this guy for 3 months! Caught him before he left town, he says he had put me off long enough and to come get it for $200!

Need to see some more pics where you are on that Kaw there Wiz!

Pulled the Carbs yesterday and went through them one by one. They were pretty gummed up. Nothing wrong with them though. shot some PB into the cylinders and turned it over solwly with the kick starter I found in the backrest storage bag :D . Once it turned over a couple time easily I shot it again with the PB and put the plugs back in it. Went and picked up a battery from Advance auto for $47(had called WalMart and they were that price so thay matched it). Got back and put it on the charger.

Took the time to get the rear brake master cleaned out and working. Cleaned up some chrome on the shocks, muffler and rear fender. Cleaned the the air cleaner, it had an aftermarket re-usable filter in it. Installed the battery and turned it over. Shot some fuel to it and it popped right off :) . Assembled the carbs today after soaking the float bowls, floats, jets & pins all night.

Just finished putting it all back together. Went to re-install the battery after getting the aircleaner back in place and the Negative cable end comes off in my hand... Guess I'll have to wait til morning to pop it off with the carbs on it. Still like to go through the front calipers as they are locked up now, and the front tire has the bead broke and is flat. Only other thing I need to do is install a new fuse block. looked like the PO had repaired each circuit as they went bad with what ever he had!

ya, im finding some wonderful PO nightmares on ym bike, who would completely disconnect a security system and not remove it? im also finding little surprises like wires that lead to no where, and so on, i got to go out and see if i can get mine to turn over, if so, ill put some fresh gas in the tank, check the spark, shoot some ether in all the cylinders, and pray.

Went through the front calipers this morning. Lotsa crud in them. Cleaned them up and they and the master cylinder work fine now. While taking them apart I noticed a washer missing on the left one on the bolt head side. Figured I' get me another... Then I took apart the right side and that bolt had 2 of them on it! Gotta Luv PO's as mechanics... NOT !

After I had the calipers off I reseated the front tire, too much fun! Tried a ratchet strap around it with the valve core out @ 120psi but no go. Tire was too hard and couldn't get the bead set. With the Air hose still on it, I stretched it outside the garage and did an oldshool tubless tire mount.

Ran over to WallyWorld and picked up a battery cable end and mounted it.
Hooked up my utility fuel tank and popped it off. Idled just fine with the bench sync. Went ahead and changed the oil and filter. Hooked up the Carbtune and synced the carbs. Poured some Carb cleaner out of my gallon along with a couple handfuls of fishtank gravel I had laying around into the fuel tank and shook the snot out of it. I left it laying right side up for the night as I had it upside down all day.

All back together... But I still have a problem with a float I believe, One had a solder repair on it, although it showed no leaks, I suspect it sank as I'm seeing a rich condition on that cylinder. Got one on order. Soon as it gets here gonna pull the carbs down again.

Pic of it back together after a 5 mile ride.
