I've started this thread in order for you fine experts to help me along my carb rebuild. This is my first carb rebuild, so bare with me.

I ordered all the parts I "need." from chacal - mostly seals, screws and the rebuild kits.

So my first issue is part identification so that I know which parts I actually have replacements for.

The rubber o-rings on the "T" are fuel rail o-rings, you need 6 per carb rack.

The T and straight fittings made of brass all take these o-rings.

These parts are what make up the fuel rail.

The brass parts can be polished with a scotchbrite pad.

As for the screw on the throttle arm, take it to your local bolt supply and you should be able to get a stainless screw for less than 50 cents.

Well right now it looks like I may have the wrong make of carbs for my bike. Thought they were Hitachi - but looks like they're Mikuni....

From what I can see in the pics:

At least one carb hat is from a Hitachi. Mikuni carb hats were not slanted.

Also, Mikuni carb bowls did not have a nipple on the drain port. Can't see which style bowls are on yours.

Hmm, ok, I see the Hitachi mark now.
However, what is causing my confusion is carb #1. The one on my bike is different. See the attached pic.

Hmmm. Have you measured both sets? They may not be the same size.

I would measure the openings and send the measurements and those two pics to Len - info "at" xj4ever "dot" com and ask him. If anyone would know it would be him.
