no start in cold temps

    my xj550 seca will not start in cold weather.it just spins over without even sputtering.when the temps are above 60 it starts just fine! what can i do to fix this.i have stage 3 jets,pod filters and straight exhaust.can i use starter fluid?

    Take the carbs apart and clean the choke(fuel enrichment circuit). The little holes in the carb bowls that feed fuel to it are clogged. A occational use of starter fluid is OK but I would try not to use it on a regular basis.

    Also dont forget to check for a weak old battery. It might be fine in warm weather, but cranking amps can go down when it gets cold
