So I went on a long-ish ride last thursday (about 130) miles, it was hot out (over 80 degrees) and i spent aobut 20 minutes at speeds between 80-105 mph, with most ofo the other time spent around 70. I havnt ever had an oil leaking problem or really noticeable oil consumption, but when i got to where i was going i was quite low on oil. Now i have done this trip a few times without checking the oil so this may be a cumulative effect, but could it be a combination of factors that (Heat?) that caused the excessive oil burnoff?

Did you check the oil right after the ride or did you let the bike sit (read: let the oil settle) first?

Add oil and check the difference after one trip.

If you can't notice a big difference you are probably ok. It is normal to burn some.

If after 130 miles at 80 degrees you are missing a lot of oil, then I would worry.
