Hey all, my oil cooler is leaking from both sides where the plastic tubing attaches so I was wondering what the odds are of "gunky" oil blocking the proper flow of oil which would cause backpressure which would cause the plastic tubiing to leak? Or is this something I have made up?
If this is a "real" issue, is there something I could use to unclog the cooler or do I just need to replace it? Thanks in advance =)

    Plastic tubes???
Somethin' ain't right in Kansas. I'm not aware of any oil cooler using plastic tubes. That might be the problem right there. Are you using the stock backing plate or aftermarket? Pictures would be worth a thousand words right now.

the lines should be able to handle more pressure than the pump can create. you could take it off and (clean it first) try to blow through it to see if you get resistance.

If it's a factory Yamaha cooler, there are o-rings that seal the hose flanges to the adapter plate, and depending on which version factory cooler you have, an o-ring and a special "ferrule" where the top of the hose is screwed into the radiator.

If any of those parts and worn or missing, then it's Leak-O-Rama Time, for shure..............

I was going to say you've got a dried-out, baked, or otherwise compromised seal (or hose) there; highly doubt the cooler is plugged.
