Hey guys, I have a (seemingly) simple question. On my particular model bike, will I be able to get the oil filter housing out from between the header pipes? I tried wiggling it around in there to see if I could find an angle that would let the little bugger free, but to no avail.

Any suggestions? After reading about people snapping off header bolts, I'm not to amped about that as a possibility just to change the oil.

    Thanks in advance!

You can get the oil filter housing out by loosing the bolt entirely, then rotating the housing on a vertical plane 90 degrees, i.e. the bolt head is to your left and the threads are to your right then wiggle it gently and pull it straight out between the header. It is narrow enough to fit right through turned this direction.

You don't need to get the housing out, just the filter. For years I took the Yohshi header off to get the housing off, then decided to try to just get the filter out and it works. Just take note of how the filter comes out and where the washer goes below the filter when you reinstall.
