Just changed oil, not the first time, but after putting oil in to correct level, bubble at top of window. I ran bike for a few minutes, oil window was empty after running & returned to only half full after shutting off & sitting for 30 min.. I did replace oil filter as well. I don't remember checking level after the first oil change but I had check it periodicly since then with the window having a bubble at top. I am thinking that due to oil filter taking up some of the oil is causing the low window condition & I should just top it off to the bubble at top of window. Is this correct or am I being to logical? Manual does not mention this condition after filter/oil change.

You are correct that changing the oil filter took up some of the oil so just top her up and she should be good.

The oil will go out of the sight glass when the bike is running, the extra oil is lubricating your engine. The glass should be half full with the engine off and the bike on the center stand.

You are correct; filling the filter "ate" your oil. Top it off and you're good.

preferred oil level is just above the top line with just a bubble at the top; the slight overfill keeps your "oil level" sensor happy so it doesn't blink at you during hard acceleration.
