Hi all , Was out riding the other day and when I pulled up for gas I noticed a small pool of oil on the ground ( about the diameter of a golf ball)had a closer look and it had come from the airbox breather. When arrived home opened the airbox took out the air filter and had a look. ( filter need s replacing as it is a little clogged, got one on order). the inside of the air box was dirty but not to bad and in the lower portion of the airbox were the crankcase breather attaches there was really no traces of oil at all ..This has never been noticed before and has not happened since. Any ideas why this happened. Is it a warning that engine is going to blow a oil ring or something. My exhausts are smoke free etc. Would appriciate some advise

If the bike has been sitting through the winter, it may have been moisture evaporating from the crankcase. As I understand it, you folks are just now coming into your spring season, correct? Have you ridden this bike before this season? If so, have you ridden it this long? I'm thinking that it's nothing to worry about. If anything, change the oil (completely) and keep an eye on it. If it continues to happen, then you may want to investigate further.

In addition, these bikes are notorious for fuel flooding the engine and it running out the air box puke tube. Make sure that's not what happened by examining the engine oil. You don't want to be riding around on severely deluded oil. That'll really hurt an engine.
